Cast Crew and Friends Gathering Draws 300+
Date: October 20, 2007
A Newmarket Venue offered a the first ever large public viewing of the movie "A Thousand Hills". Director Mary Allison Wilmarth was on hand as were many actors, extras and production crew for the inagural presentation.
It was an evening of wonder and excitement for the core production team to see the work they had laboured so hard for enjoyed so greatly by so many. Several self-confessed 'movie buffs' and many 'ordinary movie goers' made a point of saying what an excellent movie it was and how much they enjoyed it. Steve Bowes, Executive Producer said the comment cards, of which over 75 were completed and returned were almost univerally positive, with rave reviews for the cinematography and acting.
The movie presentation was followed by a 10 minute excerpt from the DVD short called "The making of A Thousand Hills". Screen-writer Sandra Bowes gave her heart-felt thanks to the actors and production staff for taking her 'script' which she held up to the audience, and turning it into the movie seen that evening. Other than the movie, the highlight of the evening was the charming and delightful director Mary Allison Wilmarth, who was totally at ease in front of this large crowd. Wilmarth shared openly many of the joys and frustrations of the shoot and post-production of the past 2 years. She called actors forward and thanked them again for their diliegence and commitment and then ended with a Q & A which covered many aspects of the production.
Truly an evening to remember for all. |
